I had a lady doctor appointment yesterday. This was my first appointment with a man as the doctor. We got the birth control issue done with, and then he left so I could get dressed. I put the gown on the wrong way, apparently, and got on the table.
I was feeling more than a little nervous, and what do I do when I'm nervous? Make awkward jokes.
The man was doing the breast exam, and I was lying there with a boob hanging out for us both to see. (The aide in there was looking away.) He was making awkward small talk about doing your own breast exams.
"You know, I was at a conference the other week, and they said your breast exams should be 6 minutes per breast. I've never taken that long! That seems a little excessive."
I quip back with, "Yeah, if my doctor was spending 6 minutes on each breast, I'd be a little worried he was enjoying it!"
We all laughed, and the tension dissolved.
Just kidding. We all laughed, but I was still ridiculously tense. Not my favorite thing to do on a rainy Thursday evening.
But then I went and saw Django Unchained. I laughed really hard. I had to cover my eyes in parts. Overall, I enjoyed it. I like Inglourious Basterds more, but of course I would. They were just so violent. ack.

hahha, I love that you say things like this, no problem. I have a male OB too and it's always a little awkward when he keeps telling you to scoot down further on the table.
You could NOT pay me to visit a male gyno. Well, maybe you could...for the right sum. Would that make me a hooker?
