About Me

Well, hello there. I'm TBN. If you want to know why I call myself that, go here. And no, I'm not racist. If you want to know a little about me, stay here and read (or just go and read my blog haha).

I was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. (Yes, Northern California. I say "hecka" sometimes.) I was raised as a "gifted" child, which has made me somewhat obnoxious about my intelligence. People who talk about how smart they are all the time drive me crazy. I swear I don't do it. I just put it on here because it's so funny to me. Like a child does well on tests, so you segregate him/her from the class so he/she can do more advanced work? Sounds like a perfect recipe for creating a huge nerd right there.

Anyway. I moved to Folsom, CA, when I was 7. Yes, that Folsom with the Folsom Prison. I don't have the Folsom prison blues though. I follow laws and rules obsessively. It's who I am. (Odd tangent.) I moved right before I was getting baptized into the LDS church (aka Mormons), so I didn't have any friends at my baptism. I think that's colored my entire experience with church....

I was a cheerleader in high school, but not one of THOSE cheerleaders. I didn't even have school spirit. I just loved cheering and doing gymnastics. I also coached youth cheerleading throughout  high school and college. I got through the painful years of high school and graduated in 2003. Ugh. Then I moved to Provo, Utah, to go to Brigham Young University. In my fourth year, I decided to delay graduation and switch to speech language pathology. Then I moved to Salt Lake City in 2008 to attend the University of Utah for grad school in speech language pathology.

My years at college and grad school have been the most important of my life. I found out who I was. I learned to love myself. I learned to accept myself for who I am (except for my weight. I still haven't figured out that one). I grew into the person I'd like to be (kind of). I gained self confidence. I became obnoxious about my sense of humor, intelligence, and beauty.... hahahaha

I graduated from the U with my master's degree in 2010.. I now live in Seattle. state. I love it. I hope it will provide MANY funny blog entries. Blogging the funny and ridiculous things that happen to me makes me look at things in a more positive light. It makes me laugh about things that might make me cry in normal circumstances. I think, "Well, hey, at least I can blog this" instead of, "EFF THIS. I HATE LIFE!!!!"
